PMs, can someone explain them to me?

Postby tmorgan » Wed Nov 17, 2010 11:00 am

I'm a dinosaur I guess, but wonder what PMs are? I think I get the gist of it, and may even wish to make use of this feature. What I don't want is for my IS to read any messages I may send or receive--we both use the same email account.

Are PMs something that come to my regular email account? Or are they only viewable on WellSpouse site?

Thanks for any help.

tmorgan,

PMs are only accessible here at the forum. The only way your email address would be involved is if you select to receive notification of private messages to your email address. That selection is made in your User Control Panel under Board Preferences, Global Settings...."Notify Me on New Private Messages"....select yes or no.

If you choose "yes", you will receive a notification about the PM and a link to it, but not the PM itself, in your email.

I hope this is helpful! :D

(and I hope a Moderator will come by and correct me if I'm wrong... )

Ya beat me to it. :)

That's the way I understand it.

The box to check for no email notices of new pms looks like this:

Notify me on new private messages: Yes No

Be sure to click the No box and then save.

I've noticed that I have two messages in my Outbox that I thought were sent. They do not show up in the Sent folder. Anyone have any ideas on how to move them to "Sent?"

They stay in outbox unless and until someone opens them (the recipient)

I have some PMs I'd like to delete since I've read them. Don't see a way to do that?

check the box next to the PM you want to delete

go down to the bottom right of the screen, there is a drop-down menu that offers 'delete' as one of the selections, click delete then click GO you will go to another screen that will ask you if you are sure you want to delete all marked PMs, click YES :D

Hi thistoo:
About gmail - I have had that for quite a while and have had no problems - like it very much. Several of my friends and relatives also have it. It is free.
