:) Hi , well I'm seriously tech challenged so hope i can make this work, found this site searching for support groups due to increasing illness of spouse...... :) where do I look for responses or threads ? whatever...if i post something, Can't use my IM cause my kids use same ...
WS 52 IS 55 Chronic Pain from failed back surgery in 1980, degenerative arthritis, bulging disks in back, new dx Cognitive Dyfunction, uncertain cause ;recent Total Knee Replacement.. Diabetic & cardiac issues (prolonged qt syndrome) getting worse

Welcome Babette! Glad you can join the family.
FIS died 9/1/08. It was her CHF, COPD, and Atrial Fibrulation that hospitalized her the last time. Both WS and FIS are women who retired in 1997 and had lived together almost 19 years.

Been reading posts for awhile...time to test waters
WS/55 works full time. IS/56 diagnosed 1999 with Parkinson's disease and disabled in 2005. Married 33 years.

WS (59) to IS (67) Separated. Parapelegic from injuries suffered in Viet Nam in 1967. PTSD, Chronic pain... too many surgeries to mention.

ilene there is no place better for understanding, empathy, support and a sense of belonging. We all 'get it' here. Join in, you'll find a wonderful dedicated group of caregivers.

Congratulations on seeking us out.

Biy do I know about the roller-coaster! One day health is OK, next we are on hospice, then she recovers somewhat. then declines. Hard to find balance.

Here we remind you that YOU are important too! Put your oxygen mask on first as the airlines say!

OK, here I go. I'm very computer illiterate. I am the WS (I'm assuming that stands for the Well Spouse). My wife is the IS (which stands for Incapacitated Spouse?)

IS means ill spouse, but I'll give you full credit. :)
Make yourself comfortable here in our "clubhouse"(the club no one wants to belong to).
Tell us more about yourself if you feel like it.
