Indenting a paragraph

This isn't very elegant, but type in the most inconspicuous character you can thin of -- say - -- perhaps five times. The high light it, and make it white -- the very last color onf the Font colour chart. Like this:

----- test test test

I tried the ASCII null characters in the previous post and they didn't work. Richard's solution works but changes the meaning of the following message.

Maybe I'll find a better solution, but that's it for tonight. Bob

Then highlight it, and make it white (the very last color on the Font colour chart).

As you can see, below, I've tried it with periods.

........ 1st line of paragraph
........ 2nd line of paragraph
........ 3rd line of paragraph
........ 4th line of paragraph
........ 5th line of paragraph
