Husband & love of 38 years passed away on May 25, 2009.
Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here!I was wondering if there's a place on this site where you can keep a journal of sorts.
Today hasn't been one of my better days, and I think I'd feel better if I wrote some things out, but I don't want anyone to see it. Is it possible to have something like that here? Sue WS 50, IS 66. Type 2 Diabetes, Strokes, Cancer of the larynx (in remission), TB, Endocarditis, VRE, PEG tube, Pneumonia, UTI, Vascular Dementia.
Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here! Not that I know of, Sue. I'm sorry. What about emails to a trusted friend? That's what I used to do.
Big hugs, Linda Married and divorced twice from IS who had small strokes and bipolar disorder. Back in college to finish my degree and making a life for myself.
Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here! You could even send an email to yourself if you don't want anyone to see what you are writing and just want to get it out. I have written in a journal. I don't do that on a regular basis though.
FIS died 9/1/08. It was her CHF, COPD, and Atrial Fibrulation that hospitalized her the last time. Both WS and FIS are women who retired in 1997 and had lived together almost 19 years.
Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here!So far I am really enjoying the full spectrum of the WS forum. There is one difficulty with the volunteer menu. When I try to go there the link is either inop or unavail. It gives me an error message telling me I am not auth to view the page. Just wondering is there something else I should be doing first? Thanks for your reply.
Colleen As you slide down the banister of life may the splinters never point the wrong way...Be who you are and say what you feel because those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.
Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here!not sure if there is a problem with the PhB. I responded to your PM - Richard might be able to assist with this.

Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here! How about a board for genetic hereditary diseases. My ex has Huntington's Disease and my children are at risk. My ex and I separated a number of years ago but I am now faced with adult children and the decision they face. I want to support them but it feels like the nightmare never ends.
Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here! You can post under Specific Illnesses with your concerns.
There is a local former well spouse whose wife died of HD; he has a grown daughter who chose not to get tested, and is married and an adoptive mother. He said that most who are at risk choose not to get tested; he was active in the local HDA group. I hope you have a group in your area. Caregiver for 30+ years to C-4 quadriplegic shot during a robbery at age 21. He practices law full time; we have two 20-something sons.
Re: Ideas to improve the board - post them here!Dear crettman (and others), Re: volunteer link on the web page.:
I think I found the bug you referred to, and fixed it. When one clicks on Volunteers in the top menu bar, there is a dropdown menu, and the next to last item is Help in the WSA Office. I changed the link in the file it opens, so that the link now goes here: http://www.wellspouse.org/contact-us-office-staff/donna-mcquade.html?catid=12 Try it -- you'll see a form page to send an Email to Donna McQuade, our Office Manager.
