Fund raising opportunity?

Postby Bob Ross » Mon Aug 15, 2011 3:00 pm

I received the following note from a member of a brain cancer site I used to frequent; they have a fund raising program which I don't remember seeing here.

If this is interesting to WSA, I would be glad to research how WSA could qualify for the program. Regards, Bob

"This is a friendly reminder that if you do internet shopping and go on the Brain Trust website www.braintrust.org before you connect to Amazon.com, Walmart, or the other sites listed....a portion of your total purchases will go to Brain Trust. When my kids were in college, we would try to get most of their textbooks from Amazon, knowing that Brain Trust would benefit from the sale. So when making back-to-school purchases, holiday purchases, or just plain internet shopping....please think of Brain Trust.

WSA participates in the igive.com program.

Thanks, Dorothy. How do I link to it?

I buy quite a bit online.

Thanks. Bob

I'm not sure exactly how it works. Go to iGive.com and look for WSA links?

If you go to the WSA Home page, on the far right, there will be a button that says "Deals". Click on that and you'll see the iGive download.

I have been using Igive for a long time. However, the percentage is small and my purchases are too so WSA doesn't get much but I guess it adds up. It is nice to know that it is there. Several of the sites I would visit anyway are Igive stores.
FIS died 9/1/08. It was her CHF, COPD, and Atrial Fibrulation that hospitalized her the last time. Both WS and FIS are women who retired in 1997 and had lived together almost 19 years.

Thanks for the suggestion. We will be adding Amazon to our 'deals' tab which we may be renaming to Shop4WSA

It is wonderful to get funding for purchases that our members would be making anyway. It is a win-win situation for sure!

IGive
Amazon
Groupon

as well as our restaurant cards

ALL make great sense, save members money on things they are buying AND assist WSA!
