Hi, my name is MaryJo, I normally go by my initials, though. I'm new here as of today, Thursday, 14July 2011. I exist (semi) down here in Olympia, WA and am wondering if there are any group members in this area. Also wondering about meet and greet meetings, are there any of those presently going on? One last question, please. I've been reading posts, searching for a glossary of some sort which will explain and help me get the different "terms" having to do with descriptions of illnesses and conditions. Is there anything resembling this to help us newbies to understand how to correctly post and also describe our Loved Ones conditions?
Thanking you for any answers which might aid me in better understanding how to navigate these new waters I find myself furiously peddling in. MJ

My geographic location limits my ability to answer some of your queries, but as far as posting and knowing what to say, you're doing a fine job. Relax! We encourage folks to talk about what they are dealing with as Well Spouses in the form of an introductory thread; the most commonly read threads are under the topic "Help and Healing". If you are seeking advice about how to create your 'signature line', you can do that in User Control Panel, on the Profile tab, on Edit Signature. As far as the "language" we speak (from a medical standpoint) check out this link for commonly used abbreviations: viewtopic.php?t=1124 In our lives, a lot comes our way faster than we can process. Consider this a place where you will have time....and support....to process as much as you can. And, provide a break from 'peddling'. Again, welcome. I look forward to seeing more of you. tl IS disabled with chronic intractable pain of degenerative spinal issues resulting from fall in '96, fibromyalgia, obstructive/central sleep apnea, diabetes, chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
