Logging on with Mac & safariAnyone had luck getting logged on (after the ID change) who is using safari browser on a Mac?
One of our dear members can't get back here. Says she misses you all. Any suggestions appreciated. Wife escaped myotonic muscular dystrophy Oct 10 2011. Son did Sept 24, 2010.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariThis is just a general comment. I did not have trouble until yesterday. I wrote to Richard and he mentioned something that I think should have been obvious. I was using an old bookmark but I hadn't DELETED WELLSPOUSE COOKIES. Duh! The cookies have to be reset. I deleted the cache too.
Since I do not know Mac, I have no idea if you can delete cookies & cache or if it is done for you.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariThanks marjcalif,
and welcome to this place! you're just gonna jump right in and offer help on your first post? you're my kind of people Wife escaped myotonic muscular dystrophy Oct 10 2011. Son did Sept 24, 2010.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariOh foo. I thought it had my name right. This is SunshineH.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariThis time I saw your picture.
What the heck, welcome anyway Sunshine! You're STILL my kind of people! Wife escaped myotonic muscular dystrophy Oct 10 2011. Son did Sept 24, 2010.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariAfter you mentioned that I was new, I took a look at things and noticed that marjcalif did not have a picture or signature. I added the picture. I have forgotten what the signature was. Guess I can look for SunshineH and find the signature. I hope Richard can change things so everything is back as it should be soon. If not, I guess I can still carry on.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariMarjorie:
Yes Richard can change the name back - you can write him Forumadmin@wellspouse.org Unfortunately, he is very busy. You may have to wait a while. Larry Be thankful the thornbushes have roses!

Re: Logging on with Mac & safariI got my name back today. However, when I logged in I had to use the first part of my email address and not my name. Not a big deal. At least I am SunshineH again. Now I will post this and see if my signature comes up.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariOur friend was able to get back on.
Sunshine has her avatar & signature back (though still working under an alias) Thanks to everyone (Richard, Larry, and all) for wrestling the incompatible software back into compliance! Wife escaped myotonic muscular dystrophy Oct 10 2011. Son did Sept 24, 2010.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariI wish we were done, alas we are not. BUT we are getting closer......
We have another issue now, if anyone can help. Seems many members using Firefox cannot get to the Home Page let alone log in. Any suggestions? Be thankful the thornbushes have roses!

Re: Logging on with Mac & safarior Safari? on a Mac? I see lists on either side (Members on the left, Board of DIrectors stuff on the right) but no content in them and no content in the middle of the page.

Re: Logging on with Mac & safariI am on Firefox and, as Incongruous said, am still logging on with a different name but added the picture and signature to that different name.
However, I do not ever logout of Wellspouse even when I shut the computer down at night. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Re: Logging on with Mac & safariYes, Apple computer and Safari browser here. I had a near-impossible time using the new website, until Richard called and fixed some things while talking to me. The only remaining problem is that I can't blow up the print as much as I would like to, or as much as I can on any other website. However, I can live with it. Thanks for bringing this up, Joe.

Re: Logging on with Mac & safariI need to tell people about the problem of having two or more usernames. We do not allow this in the normal registration process, it has just become possible - but not desirable - because of the recent changes.
I wrote to marjcalif (aka SunshineH) about this. She will need to choose which username to use. We do not want people to have 2 or more usernames, because then your posts are not all together for you to look at, and also it's confusing for other users... If the second username has 0 posts, no problem. Otherwise I delete it, but not the posts attached to it. You don't see them in the remaining account, but by using the Search feature, you can plug in that (brief) second username, and link up to any threads in which it appears. Also, even if someone never logs out from the Forum, to ensure the login/logout will work properly -- as in, after you have a computer crash, you need to go through the procedure of clearing cookies, etc. So, anyone who is using two usernames, please contact me at forumadmin@wellspouse.org and I will make the necessary changes. And anyone who has not yet deleted cookies and temporary internet files, because they always stay logged in, please do so. If the instructions on the Home page don't work for you, again please contact me, and tell me exactly what you did. Richard, WSA Pres. 05-09. Mantra: WIT - Whatever It Takes! Re: Logging on with Mac & safariThank you Richard for making it so I only have one username. What I noticed tonight, after logging in, was the "Welcome "xxx" and "xxx" was my full name. Is that the way it is supposed to be.
