Don't see that here. If you have a laptop you can tilt your screen and will see color changing. Would that help?

Can Debbie reply... does the screen need to be narrower for notepads or (lest we forget, Iphones or Droids?) I'm not sure we can accomodate all those, maybe Ron knows how.

I have larger than 17 inch monitors at work, and my laptop at home is maybe a 15 inch, so i have no problems, but was just thinking of others that might have smaller screens.

I have a smart phone/android type phone, so all i have to do if i check the site on my phone is zoom the page out with my fingers, and on my phone it doesn't show any grey margins, it has everything stretched across the screen as the old template did, so maybe just on desktops or notebooks will it show everything centered, then have the left and right margins with a block of Grey.

I am sure it will be hard to accommodate everyone, but didn't know how the formatting was, as in, was it meant to be centered.

I'm finding my way around okay but do miss the cancel bar at the bottom of posts being written. there is still preview and submit, but not cancel.

Often i start a post and then decide agains sending, I miss the cancel option.

Well good grief! I haven't been able to access the internet for five days and come back to this! I felt like I'd been gone for months! :?

I haven't been back long enough to note observations, good or bad. I think anything new takes some getting used to so I'll try this out a few days for now. I do appreciate all the volunteer effort that's put into this site!

One thing I have thought about before - how about a spell check function?

I'm still confused that in "Wellspouse are people too", I am listed as browsing the forum and so is 1 guest. How can this be? Isn't that a private thread?

OMG: I also would love a spell check. But, I understand that every add on increases the cost and adds to complicate things.

Adelle and Kronberg,

Some browsers have spell check built into them. You will discover this if you right click on a word in a post you are making, and one of the choices is "Check spelling". Since I don't use Internet Explorer, I am not certain of the functionality in that browser, but Firefox and Opera have that option (and they are free browsers to download).

I see the 'Birthday Today' listing is back! :D

I'm having a hard time reading the forums, as of tonight. That's because I need to enlarge the small print, by hitting Ctrl+ about three times. But after two enlargements, all the print disappears and I'm left with a blank screen. (I use Safari browser.) This has never happened before. Thanks.

I noticed in PMs that we have a scrolling message history. Is that new? I like it! I also like that the active window border or button highlights when you fly over it. That helps.

The pastel yellow on pastel grayish still causes the messages to blend together for me. A pronounced separation would help a lot.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Until this change, I couldn't access Mainstay. I don't know why. Now I can. I've just printed out the latest one. I think I've got a couple of years of reading here to catch up on :D .

Richard:
When I tilt mhy laptop forward I get a yellow background on the text page. The print still black but easier to read because a little darker. I did nothing to put Google Chrome on my computer and it is not on my Program list. I don't know how it got there. It just suddenly appeared. I have been researching this but can't find anything to help.

I have noticed an unwelcome change in the post a reply window and I am wondering if I am alone in having this happen.

If I am entering a post that is longer than the reply window if I move my cursor outside of the box the reply window will scroll back to the start of the post which makes it very difficult to make a word bold or change the color of the word for example. It seems I have to keep scrolling back down to the line I was typing if I happen to bump the cursor outside of the window.

This has been happening with both the computer I use at work and on my laptop at home and they use different browsers. IE at work and Firefox at home.

Eric

P.S. Maybe it was fixed in the last few minutes because of course now it is not doing what I described.

I'll ask Ron about that.

Now for EasygoingEric's question. I noticed that too. I'm going to keep
typing
here
and I have
now reached the bottom of the window and gone beyond. I think that Ron fixed the snapback problem. Thank you, Ron.

The question about visible separations between posts. Perhaps if we could have a muted color in that space say a mid-red-brown, it would help.

Debbie, thanks for trying it out on an Iphone... I'm glad to hear it fills the screen, and scrolls well.

Claudia, it's true there is no cancel button. I'll ask Ron. However you can always just hit the back button at the top left, and that will effectively wipe out what you just wrote.

I did that with this message, but first of all, I copied all that I had written before. Control A will highight all in the window, and Control C will copy it.

That happened with the old format, too. Very annoying! I wind up using Notepad and copy and paste.

I still find the background a little too bright. My eyes are burning from reading.

Can we take it one or two steps darker? Since yellow can be a problem with brightness, you might consider a beige. Beige is easier to adjust.

I also vote for moving the pictures back to the right if that is an option.

My two cents.

Heartfelt thanks for the bold message divider! It makes even more difference than I had imagined. Love it. Thank you!
