So far, so good.

Thankfully, I missed the 'red out'

Dave, I find that I can increase the text size in Firefox enough using ctrl+ without distorting the whole page enough for a scroll bar on the bottom. (Of course, my eyesight is still reasonably fair...) Have not attempted to on Opera yet, and I don't use IE.

I agree that the yellow-to-gray might be easier to follow between posts if it was more than one line. (Of course, my sig line is ridiculously long  )

Poor Takashi is probably miffed that "Birthdays Today" is missing. She is often here ahead of us in The States and starts many of the Happy Birthday threads.

I see "the bells" as thread flags are coming back...easier to see for many, I think.

And before I forget, my enormous THANKS to all those involved in working on this project!!!!!!! :D

Next to some threads I see a small image in the lower right of the icon that looks like a flame. What does it mean?

Sunshine, I believe that means that thread is considered a "hot topic"....meaning, it has a certain "excessive" number of posts in a certain amount of time; or just a set total number of posts to it. What those parameters are is a mystery to me, but I'm sure someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong!

It seems the new layout is really working well.

Just wondering....

...if it would be at all possible to add Instant Messaging, like they have on Facebook.

I often see people who are online at the same time as I, and thought it would be fun to correspond in real time.

Thank you Richard and Ron, and all those behind the scenes for all the hard work and dedication of time you put into this.

I understand the change was needed due to non compatibility with the new server?

I am a web designer when i am not doing my day job, and it does take tons of time.

I would ask though, was it done on purpose to center the forum?
The Gray margins are on each side and there's a lot of blank space that could be used where the forum stretches out more, and it will help for members who's monitors are smaller than 17 inches, such as people using small notebooks, when it's in the enter, they have to scroll down a full page to read one post sometimes.

Just a question/suggestion.

Also, for anyone who didn't know.

If you're using Firefox, and any other browser, if you have a mouse that has the movable ball, or one that has a scroll circle between your right and left click buttons, you can hit Ctrl and move the ball or scroll, and it will zoom the pages in and out for you.
Also, go under tools and you can choose a default text size and text font, it will over ride what the pages have as a default.

One suggestion, could the profile info and pictures be moved back to the right?

It's weird having them on the left, but i don't want to seem picky if others like it.

Having the names and pictures on the right is different -- but once I figure out the new look is OK.

I agree that the black on yellow is much better than the red. The red didn't bother me but, seeing this, I do like the black. [No. I just did a preview and I still like the purple.]

Someone typed in a purple and I liked it yesterday when I saw it, but maybe it was because of the red?

Today I was taken to the Home Page as usual and not the Forum Index. Thanks.

P.S. No. I just did a preview and I still like the purple.

I am not suggesting a color change. I just like purple -- everywhere.

Hi: I am getting light blue color on the new layout. The pages are very hard to read. I read about other Well Spice getting other colors? Can someone tell me what is wrong? It may be my Google account. That has been showing blue just the last few days too. I read on the Internet that Google will experiment with various things with selected users and wonder if I am experiencing an experiment with the blue? I am very puzzled. I have done nothing to change the colors from the usual.

SS: where is the blue? all over, or just in the background?

Don't see that here. If you have a laptop you can tilt your screen and will see color changing. Would that help?

Can Debbie reply... does the screen need to be narrower for notepads or (lest we forget, Iphones or Droids?) I'm not sure we can accomodate all those, maybe Ron knows how.
