Please add your comments questions on the new Layout here!

One thing -- someone asked, how to start a new topic. Now you have to click on the thread name (here it's Questions and Suggestions)and you will see the New post tab on the left on the top of the list of topics in the thread.

When you are in the midst of a topic, and replying to it, you cannot go and click on a New topic.

Over to you!

Hi-

The box that shows if there are new posts is WAY TOO TINY!
Please enlarge it & make it more obvious. I find myself straining my eyes to see it now.

The board still seems way to bright.

All in all, I find that eye fatigue sets in very quickly and need to leave the site much sooner than I did in the past.

I do appreciate all the hours of work put into the changes- I just wish they weren't so drastic and jarring. :(

Passing on comments from Easygoingeric:

There does not seem to be any indication of which topics are stickies at the start of each forum.

The line at the bottom telling who has a birthday today is also gone missing.

Well while I'm at it................
The gray borders on either side seem like wasted space and there doesn't seem to be any way to widen out the forum display area to minimize the borders. Makes for a lot of scrolling.
The post reply button is tiny as is the edit button.

Note, I will periodically pass these on to Ron the web designer.

I agree with Bethany. I would like it it was more obvious if there were new posts in a topic. Thanks for all your hard work!

I notice the option to make larger or smaller font is gone.

Putting it in quotes, and following the = sign.

I like the new bigger font size...but I find the gray shading makes it hard to track the flow of posts within a topic...

Thank you for all the hard work!

The red print hurts my eyes and I can't focus for long

Yes, I have glaucoma but still others might also dislike the bright red. It is not just a dislike but a physical pain. Any color but red please!!!!

From Larry:

There is no longer any method to determine what threads have had responses. (A red button used to show up on the left of the board, if you clicked on that you were taken directly to the newest post.) It is now cumbersome and tedious to go through each post to see if anything is new, and to determine where the newest post is in any thread.

When I click on "the Team" at the bottom, I see the mods' names, but also some other names. What is that all about?

reply to Dorothy:

Yes, the extra names appear to be Support Group Leaders, but I'm not sure everyone is there -- your name is not there, and you're an SGL. Probably best to get rid of them.

Further suggestions:

from Railroad:
I would have added that the white and very light gray are quite brilliant, and the red lettering is cute for the season but is hard for many brains to decode properly, thus making it hard to see.
The hot screen is close to hurting my eyes,

from Sunshine
One thing I noticed, that I particularly like, is when I am reading a thread and then backup to the index page of a Forum, the icon that says I have a new post is gone from the thread I just read. I no longer have to refresh my screen or try to remember which topic I read.

However, I haven't yet figured out how to know on the Board Index page which forums have posts that are new for me.

There is a big difference in the colors. So far I am OK with the change. The font in the Post Box is much larger so typing a post is a little easier

Doesn't look that way in my browser; the font is actually smaller! I suppose I could see if there are some settings I can tweak. I'll report back. :D

As I stated in the other thread, the posts all seem to blend into one another. Is it possible to make the delineations more stark and perhaps add a tiny bit of space in between each?

Also, I just want to echo what many others have said: The overwhelming majority of us liked the old format just fine. Why did there have to be a change in the first place? It just seems like a waste of resources (even if it is generously donated volunteer time). And why were we not informed from the beginning?

In the future, please ask us first is all I'm saying. :)

Two more things:

1. When you mouse-over the WSA logo in the upper left-hand part of the window, it should not be for the board index (the link immediately below that says Board Index does that just fine!), rather it should be for the main WSA website.

2. Not only can I find a means in Control Panel settings to alter the font size, but in my browser (IE7), switching Text Sizes has no effect. The same holds true for the main WSA site, too. I really would like the ability to change the font size.

Regarding text size, if this feature/bug isn't changed, you can always use another browser. I am using Opera right now, which has a Zoom feature. Then again, it makes EVERYTHING larger (not just text).

I also don't like the red!
