How to use this board

I've thought about adding more emoticons, but people don't really use them. I think the general feeling at the start was that it was the text that was most important -- we also opted not to enable avatars... just cuts down on the transmission time which is oh so important to people with modems.

Welcome!

>>This forum seems like wonderful support system for the spouse, family and friends of loved ones with MS. <<

Yes, WSMOM, it is a wonderful support system, but, you'll notice that this forum is very specifically for spouses. There are caregiver boards, and disease boards that are for others.

For WS's, this is all we've got. Our situation is quite unique and the WSF has allowed us a much needed opportunity to express ourselves and get support from people who are in the same boat.

Also, this board does not only deal with MS/IS's.

I hope you are able to convince your son to join us.

Welcome, Penguin. It's the club no one wants to belong to. Pick a forum that fits your situation, and post away.

Thanks, Richard!

I've been browsing the topics and issues everyone has, and although I'm complaining about my spouse, my problem seems so small compared to everyone else's...

I wish only the best for everyone here. It seems like a very supportive place to be.

Off I go to my topic....

new here

Postby flamike » Sat Jun 11, 2005 3:01 pm

This is the first time I have come across anything like this.
I'm not sure how it all works but thought I'd give it a try.

I'm 50 years old and have been dealing with wife's many medical problems and the associated frustrations and lonliness that accompany them for over 19 years now.

Most people don't understand what it's like to be in such a situation (how could they really?) so it'll be interesting to see what others in similar situations may have to say.

Hopefully I'll better learn how to use this site. :)
