How to use this boardRe: How to use this boardWelcome Breezy.
FIS died 9/1/08. It was her CHF, COPD, and Atrial Fibrulation that hospitalized her the last time. Both WS and FIS are women who retired in 1997 and had lived together almost 19 years.
Re: How to use this boardI'm using the Forum for the first time, although I've been a WSA member for 2 yrs now. I was prompted to do so by the e-mail survey I just got. I had a fight w/ my husband this morning, and WSA felt like a good place to go w/ it. The kind WSA responder suggested the Forum as a tool, so I am trying it out now, just dipping my toes in the water, so to speak. We'll see how it turned out. Sally

Re: How to use this boardThanks for the welcome. I'm still trying to find my way around the site. I care for my husband who has had spinal cord cancer (astrocytoma) for 13 years. We enjoyed 12 years in remission - painful, but not growing or incapacitating. Last Spring it came back with a vengeance. This time surgery left him a paraplegic and in a lot of serious pain. Complications since then have made things even worse. Right now we're trying another chemo, but so far nothing is stopping it this time. He manages to care for himself while I'm at work, but our lives have been turned upside down and our dreams for our retirement will never happen. Adjustment is so hard, and its completely possible that his physical status will continue to decline. I'm discovering that this is a terribly lonely place to be
