Recently joined and browsing the forums. According to Dr., Spouse (36 years old) has a currently Undiagnosed Relapsing Remitting Demyelinating Disease. She had her first 5 day IV steroid treatment a couple of months ago. It helped her walking but it was really rough on her entire system.

It seems like she has been tested for everything under the sun. Multiple Sclerosis has not been ruled out. But so far nothing has shown up on MRIs.

Most of the times she needs a walker to get around, is numb all over, and has severe vision problems. This has been going on for two years now, and she has had one, three month remission.

Thanks. The past couple of years have been really tough. Having extremely Incompetent doctors, and scary symptoms with very few answers. It has really turned our life upside down. Finally have a very good Neurologist who believes and is treating my wife. Before she got sick she was a very driven very active woman.

I am very blessed to have gotten a work at home job 3 months before my wife started getting sick. I don't know how we would do it if I didn't work at home.

I have never really used a forum like this before so I am not sure when and if to post anything.

Welcome to the family.

Tough diagnosis (Dx). Neuro disease can be so limiting. Glad to hear that you can work from home, and that you have found a good physician. We would have relocated years ago if we did not absolutely depend upon our PCP (primary care physician).

Post away - we tend to share everything here - losses, triumphs, best practices - and sometimes we just come on to vent, or to receive some hugs ((((geekhick)))).

Hope to hear more from you.

NICE photography!

Larry

Welcome GeekHick. Your name really made me smile but your photos made me gasp. How beautiful! I want the aspen leaves one.

I am sorry you need us but glad that you found us. Talk about whatever you want to, jump in or lurk. You are welcome either way. I always check the active posts using the button at the top of the page since I don't have a lot of online time. But you can also browse through the different subjects to find topics. Lots of wisdom and support and acceptance here.

Thanks to all the encouraging words. The username I have used for a while. I grew up in Arkansas and have a very very strong Southern Accent. I am a geek and do graphic arts, computer repair, and webdesign by trade. So thats where I got the name GeekHick. :D

Welcome GeekHick,

Although I'm sad you've need of this place, I'm glad you've found our little online oasis. May you receive the support you search for right here.

As you are perhaps aware, there are many WS here who deal with issues similar to yours; but everyone here is familiar with the general ups-and-downs of this WS life. Please feel free to post anytime, as there is nearly always someone here.

Clever screen name, and wonderful photography. ;) It's heartwarming to learn about the joys in any WS's life, to balance out the rest.

Again, welcome.

Welcome to this most supportive family. Your photos take my breath away. It takes a good eye (and probably lots of shots) to get images like that.

Post anytime about anything. This place is for you.
FIS died 9/1/08. It was her CHF, COPD, and Atrial Fibrulation that hospitalized her the last time. Both WS and FIS are women who retired in 1997 and had lived together almost 19 years.
