Welcome Susan! You have a found an amazing safe haven.

I understand your comment about work giving you time to focus on something else and the importance to your sanity. I had resigned my position end of last April due to burnout. I am back at same office filling in on a maternity leave after 6 months off. The time off was definately necessary, but being back at work has helped so much for my sanity in that I can focus on something other than "my life" for a given number of hours. Not sure what I will do yet when this temporary position is over. But I do know I will be doing something as it seems to also help in my relationship with IS that I am being an individual also, if that makes sense.

I am sorry to hear about your IS's cancer situation. My husband too has cancer...a rare osteosarcoma with surgery being the only option, but not a good one. He has come close to having surgery done, but always backs out due to the odds not being good that he would even make it through the surgery. I probably would make the same choice as him if I were in his situation. I too realize how lucky it is to still have him around, he was told otherwise by the "experts".

You will definately find much understanding here.

Welcome, Susan. Hope you find the support and encouragement you need to get through your difficult days.

I, too, work full-time, but thankfully (like you) close to home. I'm a lunchtime runner as well! My husband has an aide here during the day, but I still have to check in from time-to-time to see how things are going. You're right - it's a tough balancing act. Cherish your time with your husband and your son. Life moves so quickly...

Again, glad to have you with us!
