Hi,
I am the spouse of an injured worker. My husband was injured in a construction workplace accident almost 5 years ago. He badly injured his back. Since that time he also suffered a truck accident and now walks with a cane. There are days when he can barely move, and is on opiate meds, anti depressants etc etc etc.
The last 5 years have been a nightmare dealing with doctors, and WSIB etc etc.
I work full time, and have a 5 year old daughter, and also now have the added responsibility of all the physical work around the home.
I find myself STRESSED to the max, and no one seems to understand how hard this is on me too. Everyone always asks how my husband is doing. Never me.

Welcome! I'm so sorry you need to be here... But I hope you find this place the same haven I have found it to be... A place where everyone "gets it" like no one else.... Jan
Re: Newcomer here--first post (well second actually)Welcome AnitaB!
I joined in here about a month ago and the folks here are incredibly supportive and understanding. Everyone may have a different journey but we all seem to be challenged with the same issues. There's nothing quite like having friends that understand and you will find them here. If you haven't already, try to read thru the old posts - you'll find some good advice and humor as well! Re: Newcomer here--first post (well second actually)Welcome AnitaB, i see we are the same age. Your daughter is younger than our youngest, but we still have alot in common. Working fulltime, children, ages, managing household and IS!! It is extremely demanding.
I have gotten so much encouragement, understanding and lots of helpful information . . . i know you will find the same here. South AR FWS/IS passed in his sleep May 4, 2011
Re: Newcomer here--first post (well second actually)
Thanks! When I read your story I also noticed quite a few similarities. It is very challenging some days. I have been looking for so long for a place like this and was about to give up. It almost seems as if karma was with me. Anita WS-Age 41 IS-Age 44 suffering from Chronic back pain, repetitive strain injury in neck. Original accident Sept 2005 at workplace, MVA-- September 2008.
Re: Newcomer here--first post (well second actually)Aloha, AnitaB. I think the others have said it all, but just wanted to add my own welcome. I know what it's like to take care of a house all by yourself, and to feel you are living in a nightmare. I like your idea that karma was responsible for your finding us. I feel the same way for myself.

Re: Newcomer here--first post (well second actually)P.S. Not everybody on the forum reads the Testing One Two Three section. I suggest you copy/paste and resend your introduction to one of the other sections, such as Help and Healing so more will read it.
