Me - WS (49) Blissfully married for 27 years to my husband - IS (55), Type 1 Diabetic, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 1/2009. Whipple procedure (removed pancreas, gallbladder, spleen). Undergoing chemotherapy.

WS (59) to IS (67) Separated. Parapelegic from injuries suffered in Viet Nam in 1967. PTSD, Chronic pain... too many surgeries to mention.

This is the best place you could be to find the understanding, support and on-hands knowledge and experience in dealing with all of the issues of being a WS to a very sick IS. Make yourself at home and visit us through this board often.

Welcome, ABFinAZ! This is a wonderful haven.

I hope you know about our Phoenix event on April 24, and plan to attend. If you don't, please go to our website and read about it. We're a mostly east coast organization, so this would be your big chance to meet other well spouses in a structured, informative setting.

If you can't make it, you've still got our virtual company here. :)
Caregiver for 30+ years to C-4 quadriplegic shot during a robbery at age 21. He practices law full time; we have two 20-something sons.
