My first post

Hi! I am new here and thought that I would introduce myself. I live in upper northeast Montana in the USA in a small town of 900 surrounded by rivers and mountains. It is beautiful here with bald eagles, osprey, hawks, golden eagles, deer, elk, moose and bears. There is just not many options for hospitals. We live 30 minutes from the closest hospital and 2 1/2 from the hospital that we go to for serious problems.

My husband has had two years of heart disease, attacks, stroke, stents and in August he found out that he has agressive throat cancer. I also caretake my ill daughter of 30 who has fibromialgia, kidney issues, water retention, joint problems and mental issues. I co raise her two children which are 8 and 10. So I do keep busy!

I just wanted to touch base with caregivers to have a support group, as there are no support groups in my area. I need to start my Master's so I can support my family, but got really depressed when I started since we had just found out about the cancer so I had to withdraw. We have little money, but we do have love.

It's nice to meet everyone and I can't wait to get to know you.

Welcome Sunshineone! You have now entered a very special community where you will be heard, understood, and fully supported.
I am a Montana girl..born and raised in Billings, but confess I don't know the high NE very well. Had a cabin on the Flathead for many, many years, but recently sold it. Guessing that Great Falls is the location of the major hospital you mentioned. I now live in Italy..but thanks to internet, I feel very much "at home" every time I open this site.
You have a lot on your plate..all the more reason you need to take good care of yourself. Visit here often..it is the best place in the world to find support, compassion and excellent advice.

Sorry you are in need of a caregivers support group, and that you have so many challenges to deal with...but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a more supportive, loving group of people than those who congregate here
