Tutorial

Postby Erin » Sun Nov 30, 2003 5:46 pm

Here's a quick tutorial for those of you having a hard time getting used to the forum.

The main Wellspouse Forum page is at http://www.wellspouse.org/forums/

How to read threads:

If you drag your mouse over the forum topics, they should change color from blue to orange. If you click, you can then visit a forum. Presumably you have already done this since you arrived here! Once in the forum, you should see a list of topics. Drag your mouse over the thread topics and they should highlight -- you can then read the posts for that particular thread.

How to get registered:

Users who have an account can post messages and send and receive private messages. If you're hesitant about getting registered, you might want to read "A message to guests" located at http://www.wellspouse.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=70

When you're ready, go to 'register' at the top of the main page. Once you're finished filling out the registration, an email will be sent to you from forumadmin@wellspouse.org. Erin (the forumadmin) activates accounts once a day -- please wait for your activation notice in your inbox. If your junk mail filter is set to high, you should make sure that email from Erin will get through to you by enabling the address in your mail program. Once you get the activation email, you will be able to log in to the forum.

The biggest problem people have getting registered is that this email is routed to their trash bin. Don't let this happen to you! If it does, email me at forumadmin@wellspouse.org and I will delete your account so that you can do it again. If your account is not activated within a day or so, please email me and tell me what username you chose so that I can get you up and running.

How to post:

Go back to the main page by clicking on "Wellspouse Forum Index."
Go to the "Testing One Two Three" forum by clicking on the forum title.
Open one of the threads and click the "post reply" button at the top. Fill in your post on the form that comes up, then click "submit."

How to start a new thread:

To start a new thread, go to the forum category that you want to post in.
Click "new post."
Name your new thread and post in the form provided.
Click "submit" to post your new thread.

All this stuff should be automatic and should happen after you submit.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask me.
