Sadly, we have had an issue lately of people viewing our forum who should not be, and thus stirring up trouble for our members. In an effort to protect our privacy, I have slightly changed access to the board so that people who should not be here will have a harder time accessing the forum.
More specifically, I changed the permissions of the General Discussion area of the forum from public view to registered member view only. Also, if you indicated in your profile that you want your presence on the board hidden, it will only be visible to registered members and not to the general public.
If you are a new member registering for the first time, please make it clear in your registration that you are a wellspouse by indicating the disease or illness that your spouse is suffering from. This will speed up the registration process for both me and you.
I hope this extra precaution will help us maintain this community as a safe and supportive one.
We are an exclusive community, and if you are not a Wellspouse yourself, please allow us our space -- as our members often say to one another, this is an exclusive club that no one wants to belong to.
If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at forumadmin@wellspouse.org
If you would like to discuss the changes, please do so in the Questions and Suggestions Topic Area.

Here's an update that I think will be a better one from the initial changes.
- All topic headings are viewable to the public - Only the informational topics, as well as resources and "wellspouses are people too" and "getting together" are openable by the general public. All other forums are closed to all but registered members. I think this solves the problem of maintaining the privacy of our members while still giving propective members a small taste of who we are. - Erin
