About SPAM

Please don't pm or email me more about spam posted to the bulletin board. I look through the new messages on average a couple times a day and delete it. In general, I do not need help finding spam.

I also parse the memberlist once a week on average and get rid of spammy members, including members with bad websites. So I don't need you to tell me about those either.

Sometimes, especially in the summer, I go away for a few days to my parents' house which doesn't have internet access, so sometimes I don't log on for a few days. That means that spam can stay around for a few days.

Spam is yucky. We all hate it. But there's not much I can do about it short of making myself a whole lot of extra work to do which I can't afford. Of course, time is what we all need more of.

So, you'll have to be patient with spam and tolerate it. And, you'll have to be patient with me too -- I do the best I can with the time I have, which is, I know, what all of you do as well. I apologise in advance for any offensive posts you might encounter here, but there is little I can do to prevent it and I can't log on more frequently.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP ME, and when it is more difficult for me to find offensive posts, is to direct me to antagonizing discussion or cases where a member is clearly violating the user agreement. Those are more difficult for me to find, and also rarer. If you think that there is a person who is behaving badly, please let me know by pm or email.

I can't reply to all of your pms and emails and want to thank all of you who have written me about offensive posts. I hope you understand that my time is limited and I have to spend it wisely -- I just can't write back to all of you personally. But I do read your letters and I do act on all of them.
