Hello all:
I received news of Erin's resignation as the Site Admin last night, after I got back from a weekend in Philadelphia and Cherry Hill, NJ, for the WSA annual face-to-face Board Meeting.
I am sorry to see her go, she has done a lot for the Forum, to make it a place that is hospitable for all well spouses -- from the newbies, to the veteran current WS's, to those like myself, who are Formers.
I would like to thank Erin here, for all she has done. For those of you relatively new on the board, it was Erin and her husband Mark who created it, back in 2003, 7 years ago. That was after we had experienced the horrors of an unmoderated board, where flame wars would break out, whenever someone or other decided to vent his feelings by attacking others.
Today we have a crew of 7 moderators who keep an eye on things, and remind people in a nice way, to concentrate on speaking about their own experience, and avoid giving unsolicited advice, or passing judgment on others. I would like to recognize them for their good work -- they were recruited by Erin, and myself.
This Forum is a safe place for a spousal caregiver to introduce oneself, vent, ask for or give advice when it is requested, and just have fun. Lord knows we all have had the experience of others not understanding our lives and feelings -- so many have come here, to the WSA Online Forum, and found the opposite -- people here "get it", in spades.
